University of Žilina

The University of Žilina has been one of the leading educational and scientific research institutions in Slovakia for more than 70 years. Today, the university has seven faculties, seven other research and educational workplaces and institutes, and two research centres. With its rich tradition, it occupies a significant place among Slovak universities, in terms not only of the number of students, the offer of interesting and high-quality study programs, but especially in terms of significant research and foreign activity. Today it is a broadly conceived university concentrated in a unique university campus. Although the current university is no longer so significantly oriented towards transport and communications, its historically given professional profile is one of the unique ones in Slovakia with a number of high-quality experts and scientific and research know-how in the field of transport and the necessary infrastructure, including bridge structures.
